Mini-markets for Allina were a big hit

During the month of October, De la Gente arranged three pop-up artisan markets while medical volunteers and their families from Allina Health were in Antigua providing preventative care, necessary surgeries and other volunteer work for people in need. After a long day of working in the clinics, volunteers were happy to relax and browse the mini-mercado for gifts to take back home.

All of the artisans that De la Gente works with participated in the markets, which was an excellent opportunity to sell their products to new customers. Several of the volunteers have made multiple trips to Guatemala and look forward to this opportunity to buy unique products, and of course delicious coffee! In fact, members of the San Miguel Escobar cooperative sold more than 150 bags of coffee. A huge thanks to our talented artisans and Allina volunteers for attending!
